| The Demarest Genealogical Society: Organization |
|
The Demarest Genealogical Society is a global organization dedicated to research and education on the origins, history, cultural impact and lives of members of the Demarest family, and its associated surnames. The Society conducts research, publishes research findings, orchestrates discussion and research groups, and maintains the world's largest genealogical database on members of the Demarest family, which is published in both print and electronic form, and is available to DGS members for their private genealogical pursuits. The Society also maintains an international network of researchers who volunteer to assist DGS members in gathering information on Demarest family members, and Demarest family history, in their geographies. The Society is a research and education organization, not a pedigree society. Membership is open to anyone interested in historical or genealogical issues concerning the Demarest family, whether they bear a Demarest surname or descend from Demarests. The directors of the Demarest Genealogical Society are, at present: Marc Demarest, Executive Director Laurence Van Kleek, Director Nancy Terhune Morrison, Director |
