The DGS requests family histories from all Demarest descendants in preparation for the publication of a new Demarest Family genealogy and an associated database for researchers. For more information on the project, to submit your family history, or to request corrections to the existing 1964 Voorhis Demarest genealogy, contact Nancy Terhune Morrison, the project's submissions editor. |
The Demarest Genealogical Society is a non-profit research and educational organization dedicated to historical, geneaological and cultural research on the Demarest family in North America, Europe and Asia. Demarest family surnames in the US, Canada and Europe include: Demarest, Demerest, Demorest, Demeree, Demaree, Demaray, Demeray, Demerey, Demoray, Demorier, De Mara, and De Mary. This site serves as an online community space for members of the Demarest Genealogical Society, and researchers interested in the Demarest family. Visitors are welcome to use the materials on this site, and are encouraged to join the Demarest Genealogical Society, and help defray the organization's research and operating expenses with a tax-deductible contribution. If this is your first visit to the site, we recommend that you read the Site Introduction. For factual information on the history of the Demarest family, consult the site's History section. For information on the origins of the family, particularly theories concerning the North American branch of the family and its European origins, refer to the materials in the Origins section. To look into the Society's current research projects, or review our current calls for materials, consult the Research department. For genealogical inquiries, contributions and database access, consult the Genealogy area. To join Demarest Genealogical Society discussion groups, visit the Lists area. We welcome inquiries, requests for information, questions and comments. |
